Individuals sickened after exposure to “forever chemicals” urged the Biden administration this week to press ahead with a pending rule that would set aggressive nationwide limits on the compounds in drinking water.
Public drinking water is considered an important avenue for protecting human health given that so many Americans consume it daily. Kyla Bennett, director of science policy at Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility and a former wetlands permit reviewer at EPA, said she would “be absolutely furious” if the agency set a higher maximum contaminant level.
