Brian McKenna: Michigan Environmental Anthropologist

YouTube video

An anthropologist in the University of Michigan-Dearborn’s Department of Behavioral Sciences, Brian works as an environmental scholar. Three years before joining academia, Brian was hired by the Ingham County Health Department to conduct an analysis of environmental issues within Lansing, Michigan. Brian sounded the alarm about a variety of chronic water quality violations, some of which were perpetrated by General Motors.

PEER helped him liberate the suppressed data and gave him a public platform for speaking out about serious risks to public health and the environment.
