“City Commissioners agreed Tuesday to take the unprecedented action of removing Planning and Zoning Board member Rob Long next month if he refuses to retract statements concerning Delray Beach‘s water quality.
At issue was a column Long wrote about a recent news release issued by an environmental watchdog group, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, or PEER. The release discussed the amount of PFAS, known as “forever” chemicals, in the city’s drinking water after PEER obtained the city’s test results through a public records request. The “forever” chemicals can cause cancer.”
