“The four EPA toxics office scientists who are asking the inspector general to investigate the office are detailing a host of alleged incidents where they say career leaders improperly overrode their findings to secure less-stringent TSCA reviews of new chemicals.
According to the whistleblower group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), which is representing the staffers, their goal is to EPA Office of Inspector General review the new chemicals program based on their complaint. They have also urged Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), chair of the subcommittee on environmental oversight, to “ensure” that review happens.”
