Washington, DC — Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) today announced that Isabelle Dietz, a former U.S. Department of Justice trial attorney and law clerk for federal judges at both the district and appellate level, has joined PEER as Staff Counsel.

Prior to joining PEER, Dietz served as a trial attorney for the Department of Justice’s Tax Division, where she represented the United States in affirmative and defensive civil tax litigation in U.S. District Courts and U.S. Bankruptcy Courts. In 2024, Dietz received an Outstanding Attorney Award at the Tax Division in recognition of her work.

Dietz clerked for the Honorable William K. Sessions III at the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont and the Honorable Stephen A. Higginson at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Cicuit. She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School, with highest pro bono distinction, and her B.A. from Middlebury College.

“Isabelle brings litigation experience and a demonstrated commitment to public service at a time when those skills are needed more than ever to protect public employees and the environment,” said Tim Whitehouse, executive director of PEER.
