Tim Whitehouse, executive director of Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, an environmental group that supports current and former government employees, said there should be an investigation of the people at Interior who pushed the vandalism narrative.

“The people at the Interior Department who made these decisions must be held accountable,” he said. “We cannot let them quietly move on.”
