“I can’t imagine that out of 40,000 acres there isn’t a sizable percentage that BLM couldn’t work with farmers and ranchers in the area to lease,” Schoesler said.

Western Watersheds Project and Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility filed a lawsuit Sept. 13 in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., accusing BLM of allowing overgrazing.
