On June 6, PEER submitted a formal request seeking information about this massive reorganization. While the Interior Department shared some documents, these were “highly redacted” and “fragmentary” and did not include the requested information. This led PEER to file a federal lawsuit on November 17.
Now, about one year after the implementation of SO 3429, the Interior Department has admitted it has no records of the savings gained, or the costs imposed by the agency’s reorganization.
