“The Interior Department yesterday dismissed criticism that Secretary David Bernhardt may have misused taxpayer funds to tout a massive public lands bill, calling the accusation “frivolous.”
The national nonprofit Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER) yesterday accused Bernhardt of violating prohibitions on using taxpayer funds for “propaganda and indirect lobbying” after he urged House lawmakers to take up S. 3422, the “Great American Outdoors Act.””
