PEERMail | Navigating the Storm

It has been a dizzying few weeks as the Trump administration “floods the zone” with a flurry of actions designed to cripple the federal government.

For federal employees, this is a devasting time. Park rangers, archeologists, scientists, maintenance workers, lawyers, and human resources staff are just a few of the workers coming to us for assistance after being abruptly terminated in a widespread downsizing of government agencies that seems random, cruel, and contrary to the law.

In times like these, I am grateful for PEER’s outstanding legal team, our partnerships with other non-profit organizations working on these issues, and the new relationships we are developing with private firms that represent federal employees wrongfully terminated from their employment.

Working together, we will find ways to legally challenge these unlawful terminations and help spread the word about the important role these public servants play in protecting our environment, public lands, and public health.

Onward,

Tim Whitehouse
Executive Director

P.S. Many of you have kindly chipped in a little extra to support our growing workload supporting public employees. Thank you so much, your generosity is greatly appreciated! If you would like to make an extra donation, you may do so here.

Administration of “Alternative Facts”

PEER’s Of Counsel Jeff Ruch declares that we can no longer allow the flow of information from public servants to the public be managed by a single individual, especially this President. Instead, the avenues of official data, research, and analyses must ultimately have legal status that puts them beyond the reach of yet another felt-tipped Executive Order. Read more>>
