The Trump administration’s launch of a new brand for nationwide celebrations of America’s 250th anniversary is sparking questions on public spending from one environmental watchdog group.
Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, which is made up of current and retired federal employees, sent a letter to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum on Thursday asking that the agency disclose if it’s using public dollars earmarked for the Interior Department for anniversary events led by Freedom 250 and the White House.
