However, some environmental advocates say the attorney general is aiming at the wrong target, as Texas faces what they see as more pressing PFAS issues.
“The amount of Lululemon that’s sold in Texas is probably a drop in the bucket, compared to how many farms in Texas are spreading biosolids everywhere,” said Kyla Bennett, director of science policy at Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility.
PFAS is a family of toxic chemicals that has been linked to health issues including cancer, immune system problems and fertility issues. They have become pervasive in the environment and in drinking water — and in some places have been spread on farmland in fertilizer.
