The revelation that OIG launched a review of Lemos comes amid an unfolding saga that has seen her resigning from the agency.
In an email obtained by the group Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility, Lemos told CSB staff that she was providing six weeks of notice, “considering the changes facing the agency,” and that her last day of employment would be July 22.
Lemos wrote to colleagues that the “recent priorities of the Board have eroded my confidence in our ability to focus” on the agency’s mission, according to a Bloomberg report (Greenwire, June 13).
