Yesterday, I testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on the Constitution, on the issue of citizenship and America’s 250th anniversary.
Why was the head of PEER, a small NGO focused on good governance and environmental issues, asked to speak before the committee? Because of the work we have done exposing how the Department of the Interior and National Park Service are transferring money without proper oversight and accountability to Freedom 250 — a Trump-aligned entity that has taken over the country’s official 250th anniversary celebrations.
I also testified about the shared civil values we need to fight for: transparency, accountability, oversight in government, and an end to corruption.
I was glad to share PEER’s perspective at this pivotal moment in our nation’s history.
Onward,
Tim Whitehouse
Executive Director
