Environmental advocates are cranking up pressure on regulators amid a high profile “forever chemicals” crisis that has implicated a plastics company.
Two groups — the Center for Environmental Health and Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility — called on the Biden administration to target the formation of PFAS during fluorination processes in a letter sent Monday. The appeal comes after the chemicals were found leaching from plastic barrels more than a year ago, a phenomenon EPA traced back to an obscure company that fluorinated the containers.
