Senators Call for New Safety Board Leader

“Prominent Senate Republicans have added themselves to the list of lawmakers calling for the White House to nominate a new Chemical Safety Board chair. The Trump administration has repeatedly proposed eliminating CSB, which investigates industrial chemical accidents, but Congress has continued to fund the agency. In a letter that Republicans on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee sent to White House chief of staff John Kelly last month, they urged the nomination of a new chair “as soon as possible.”
