“Yellowstone National Park officials are taking steps to bolster Wi-Fi in the park’s interior, where today signals are poor enough that employees can go to great lengths to pull off even the most mundane of tasks.
A proposal on the table would result in a sweeping upgrade to Wi-Fi networks in buildings at Canyon Village, Grant Village, Lake Village, Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful. The infrastructure overhaul stems from a private business, named AccessParks, which has applied to install up to 484 small, 7- to 10-inch-wide antennas to transmit signals. The application also calls for another 39 larger antennas, ranging from 29-inch dishes to a 6-foot-wide addition to an existing tower at Old Faithful.”
