“William Perry Pendley, who led the Bureau of Land Management illegally for more than a year, told a Wyoming newspaper this week that a federal judge’s ruling barring him from performing the duties of director “has no impact, no impact whatsoever” on his actions today.
In addition to the lawsuit before Morris, Pendley is also involved in a separate lawsuit challenging the legal authority of Bernhardt’s appointments of both him and Margaret Everson, who is leading the National Park Service as its acting chief. Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility and the Western Watersheds Project originally filed that lawsuit in May, amending it a couple of times since (Greenwire, May 11).”
